These are a couple of the verses from a song by Chris Rice ~ it is a beautiful song & is so true.... four years ago today, my sweet Mama, Betty Douglas, was reunited with her Savior forever. I am so thankful that I know that her eternity is secure & that she is safe in her Savior's arms ~ BUT I miss her more today than I did 4 years ago, I grieve the loss of her almost every day. I miss her love, wisdom, laughter, care, concern, her affection & so much more I miss her prayers. She was faithful to her Savior and to her family ~ and her friends. She KNEW the power of prayer & she demonstrated that by praying fervently for those she loved! I am so very grateful for her LIFE and for her LEGACY ~ I am thankful that I am a recipient of many many blessings because of who she was ~ this is worth far more than any monetary inheritance that she could have given!
I love this song because it really is a great picture of life, at least to me ~ life is FULL of sweet precious times ~ that send me to Jesus & then there are times that are so consumed with grief that I am catapulted into my Savior's arms, because I feel unable to move another step without being reminded of His faithfulness & love ~ all that happens on this Earth has purpose to draw me to Christ & reveal Him in me to the world ~
I pray that my reflection to the world brings glory & honor to my Savior & am thankful that I had a godly grandmother who did exactly that for all her years! I miss her so, but look forward to seeing her again so we can worship God together again!!!
As she sat thinking and dreaming all those years ago ~ I bet she had no idea the lives that she would impact because of her faithfulness to her Savior!
